Kirjeldus
Molevac is a medication used to treat infections caused by intestinal worms, particularly pinworms. Pinworm infections are common, especially in children, and can cause symptoms such as itching (restlessness) around the anus, restlessness, and mild stomach discomfort. Molevac contains the active ingredient pyrvinium embonate, which works by paralyzing the worms so they can be expelled naturally through bowel movements.
This treatment is usually given as a single oral dose, with a repeat dose recommended after two weeks to prevent reinfection. As pinworms spread easily through contact and contaminated surfaces, it is recommended to treat all household members simultaneously to prevent reinfection.
Molevac is well tolerated, with very few side effects. Some people may notice mild gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea or cramping, but these are generally short-lived. Good hygiene is essential during and after treatment to avoid further transmission of the worms. This includes regular handwashing, cleaning bedding and clothes, and trimming fingernails.
